Getting Started

What is SIP trunking?
SIP trunking connects your PBX (phone system) to the public telephone network over the internet. Instead of traditional phone lines, SIP trunks use your internet connection, providing significant cost savings, scalability, and flexibility.
How do I connect to IPComms?
Use IP authentication - add our SIP server 34.23.59.14 or hostname s1.ipcomms.net to your trunk config. Ports: 5060 (UDP/TCP) or 5061 (TLS). No username/password needed - just whitelist your IP in the portal.
Do you offer a free trial?
We don't offer a free trial, but our competitive pay-as-you-go pricing means there are no contracts or commitments. Sign up and only pay for what you use.

How much does IPComms cost?
  • $0.01/min US and Canada calls
  • $1.50/month per local DID ($1.00 setup)
  • $2.00/month per toll-free number ($1.00 setup)
  • $0.185/min toll-free inbound
  • $2.50/month E911 per DID
  • $5.00/number porting fee
Are there any contracts?
No contracts. Pay-as-you-go, cancel anytime without penalties.

Technical

What codecs are supported?
G.711 (u-law/a-law), G.729, Opus, and G.722 HD voice. Codec is auto-negotiated based on your configuration.
Do you support TLS and SRTP?
Yes. Connect via port 5061 for TLS (encrypted signaling) with SRTP (encrypted media). Ideal for compliance requirements.
Do you support T.38 fax?
Yes, we support T.38 fax protocol for reliable fax over IP.
How many concurrent calls can I make?
No limits on concurrent calls. Our infrastructure scales automatically. Pay per minute regardless of simultaneous call count.

Phone Numbers

Can I port my existing numbers?
Yes. Porting costs $5.00/number and typically takes 5-10 business days. We handle coordination with your current carrier.
What geographic coverage do you offer?
DIDs in 40,000+ rate centers across the US and Canada. All area codes plus toll-free (800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833).
What PBX systems work with IPComms?
Any SIP-compatible PBX: Asterisk, FreePBX, 3CX, Issabel, VitalPBX, and commercial systems from Cisco, Avaya, and Mitel.
